Let me introduce you to Blueberry...
Maybe you noticed a stuffed mouse on the cover of CLASS and wondered what that was all about.
Hello Friends,
By now, you’ve seen the book cover for CLASS, my forthcoming book that is the sequel as well as the origin story to MAID. Maybe you noticed a stuffed mouse on the cover and wondered what that was all about.
Let me introduce you to Blueberry.
In a discussion for the cover design of CLASS, I said it would be awesome if it could just be our backpacks and my daughter’s stuffed animal, Blueberry, who plays an important role in the book itself. Blueberry has been a favorite since Story turned to smile at him when she was just six days old.
After many photo shoots with Blueberry, he made the book cover, much to Story's delight. I love it so much that I asked a couple of my favorite artists to create a replica of him.
Though he is too precious for book tour, I did find another Blueberry on eBay that is similar, who has already been traveling with me for gigs this spring and will join me for events this fall! I can't wait for you all to read the rest of our story in CLASS and meet Blueberry.
Thanks for reading. More soon!

Adopt A Single Mom Project is a grassroots non-profit founded November 2017 inspired by founder, Donna Nelson’s lived experience as a single mom as a sole parent of two boys. She was driven by recognizing the huge need in her own community of Northeastern Pennsylvania that she felt compelled to create a program specifically for working single mom’s in her area who fall into the invisible gap of lacking a meaningful support system and a financial safety net.
It started with the idea to buy Christmas gifts for the single moms who work, and from her experience get over looked at Christmas time. She felt compelled by this knowing the truth that often single moms do not have gifts under the tree for herself… unless she used her own money to put them there.
Adopt A Single Mom’s mission is to create a movement providing direct support to empower working single moms of Northeaster Pennsylvania and beyond filling the gaps with a network of sustainable resources and support to enhance their quality of life so they can be the best version of themselves to thrive as moms and women of our community. The are fulfilling their mission through community engagement and comprehensive mentorship programming to fill the gaps on real-life challenges of personal well-being, finances, relationships, and career enhancement, and social and emotional enrichment experiences for both mom and children throughout the year.
